Down on the River walk in San Antonio Texas, I wandered around in the afternoon, just to see what I could see. Then I noticed something really beautiful. It was a dance. The ripples in the water was this beautiful dance with nature. The trees swayed back and forth and as no one was in sight, there was a great presense that someone was there. Medium: Oil paintEver see a live performance at the ballet and leave feeling rejuvinated and excited that you were there? That was what inspired this ballerina scene. Looking onto the audience, clapping, cheering and flashing lights of cameras. The audience throwing roses on stage to the performers. And the ballerinas on stage, giving it there all, then as they are about to exit, they all hold hands to take a bow. When I was young, I took ballet lessons. It was such a joy to me. Often time, before my class started, there was another class of older ladies, maybe in there late teens, still in class dancing before I got there. I thought they were so tall and graceful. I would sit there, watching and thinking, 'that's going to be me one day.' In my inspiration, I decided to create a little different and it make this piece in a scene with brick walls and different shades of women dancers. I will never forget Ms. Bridget. She was a natural red haired lady, and so encouraging.
